Formerly known as the Federation of Disability Sports Organisations (FDSO), Disability Sport Yorkshire was formed in 1993 to create and provide sport and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities in the Yorkshire and Humberside regions.

English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) is the national body responsible for developing sport for disabled people in England.
Cerebral Palsy Sport promotes and seeks to increase sport and physical recreational opportunities for people with a disability and especially those who have cerebral palsy.
